Travel Alert through August 19, 2026
- Trains between Eugene and Portland are operating as scheduled with no changes to timing or stops, and Portland Union Station remains open.
- Structural safety concerns tied to a fire-damaged warehouse north of Portland Union Station have prompted temporary service changes for trains that would otherwise travel between Portland and Vancouver, Washington. Tracks in the affected area are not owned or operated by Amtrak.
- Most service between Portland and Seattle continues, using a combination of trains and connected buses. Trains currently operating south of Seattle in Washington State will begin or end service in Vancouver, WA, with bus connections to and from Portland; other affected routes are temporarily served by buses at all scheduled stops. Operations north of Seattle are not affected, and trains will make all regularly scheduled stops between Seattle and Vancouver, BC.
We recognize that these changes may be frustrating for customers. Here is what customers can do to stay informed:
- Self-modify a reservation via the Amtrak app or Amtrak.com or call 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) if a trip has been impacted and change and cancelation fees will be waived.
- Visit Amtrak.com or download the Amtrak app for the latest information on train status
- Subscribe to delay alerts for any train via email or text message at Amtrak.com/DelayAlerts
- Follow @AmtrakAlerts on X for real-time service information on Amtrak trains across the country
