Your Train Trip Just Got Easier Uber Savings Are Back September 15

First published September 9, 2026

**Leave the parking behind. Catch the train. We'll help with the first and last mile. ** Getting to the train should be as easy as riding it. That’s why Amtrak Cascades is bringing back its popular Uber voucher program beginning September 15, helping Oregon travelers make the connection between home, work, hotels and the train station easier — and more affordable.

Riders can receive a $10 Uber voucher for an eligible ride to or from any Amtrak Cascades station in Oregon, including Portland Union Station, Oregon City, Salem, Albany and Eugene.

It’s one more reason to leave the car behind and let Amtrak Cascades take you where you want to go.

Solving the First and Last Mile

For many travelers, the hardest part of taking the train isn't the train ride. It's figuring out how to get to the station — or how to reach the final destination after arriving. Our rider research identified this "first and last mile" connection as an important part of the overall travel experience. Riders also told us the Uber discount provided real value, which is why we're bringing the program back.

With an Uber voucher, you can connect directly between an Oregon Amtrak Cascades station and your home, hotel, meeting, restaurant or other destination without having to worry about station parking or arranging a ride with someone else.

Five Reasons to Ride and Let Uber Handle the Rest

  • Skip station parking. Instead of driving to the station and finding a place to leave your vehicle, request an Uber ride and get dropped off for your train.
  • Make your trip more door-to-door. Combine rideshare with Amtrak Cascades to create a more complete trip from your starting point to your destination.
  • Save $10 on an eligible ride. The voucher provides up to $10 toward an eligible Uber trip beginning or ending at an Oregon Amtrak Cascades station. If the fare exceeds the voucher amount, the rider pays the remaining balance.
  • Leave the car at home. Taking Uber to the station means you don't need to bring your personal vehicle just to make the first or last few miles of your trip.
  • Make spontaneous trips easier. Heading to Portland for an event? Spending a weekend in Eugene? Visiting friends in Salem? A rideshare connection can make it easier to plan a train trip without also planning around a car.

A Better Way to Start Your Oregon Adventure. Instead of thinking about your journey as separate pieces — drive, park, train, find another ride — think of it as one connected trip.
Uber + Amtrak Cascades makes that connection easier.
