Infants (under age 2) (first child free)

One child under the age of two may ride free with each adult ticket purchased. Infants are not entitled to a seat. Additional children under age two are permitted with each adult traveler at a 50% discount. Other restrictions may apply. If any additional child per adult will be traveling, reservations must be made for that child as an "Adult" and the full adult fare will be charged.

Seniors (10% off fare)

Amtrak Cascades travelers 65 years of age and over are eligible to receive a 10% discount on the lowest available rail fare on Amtrak Cascades. On cross-border services operated jointly by Amtrak and VIA Rail Canada, a 10% Senior discount is applicable to travelers aged 60 and over. Discount is automatically applied when you go through the ticket booking system on Amtrak.com where it asks for the date of birth. It interprets the age and applies the discount at that point.

Passengers with mobility disabilities (10% off fare)

Amtrak Cascades offers a 10% fare discount to passengers with mobility challenges and to their adult companions of age 18 years or older. Please request the discount when making reservations. This discount cannot be combined with other available discounts except the child's fare. Read our accessibility guide for more information.

Documentation requirements

-Transit system ID card for persons with a disability -Membership card from a disability organization -Letter from a physician -Medicare card, if under 65 -Veteran's Administration ID with "Service Connected" -Disabled/Accessible parking placard issued by a state Department of Motor Vehicle (photocopy is acceptable)

Military personnel save 10% and jump the ticket line

With valid active-duty United States Armed Forces identification cards, active-duty US military personnel, their spouses and their dependents are eligible to receive a 10% discount on the lowest available rail fare on most Amtrak trains, including for travel on the Auto Train. Just use the Fare Finder at the beginning of your search on amtrak.com and select 'Military' for each passenger as appropriate to receive the discount.

Additionally, Amtrak supports and thanks our troops by welcoming the uniformed military personnel to the head of the ticket line.

Passenger Discount for Military Veterans

Veterans of the United States Military with valid military veteran identification card receive a 10% discount on the lowest available rail fare on most Amtrak trains. Veterans must have served in one of the following branches:
