Service alert header

Due to track work being performed by Union Pacific Railroad, Amtrak Cascades trains will not operate south of Portland Union Station from the evening of June 7 through the morning of June 9. The schedules listed on Amtrak.com have been updated to reflect this change and all impacted passengers have been notified.

Union Pacific is replacing two timber bridges between Junction City and Harrisburg with prestressed concrete and steel structures. They are taking the mainline out of service for 18 hours to make the change. Typically, every summer they upgrade two or three bridges in the Willamette Valley which has many timber trestles that are beginning to age out.
