Every year for more than a century, the City of Roses has thrown itself a massive party in the form of the Portland Rose Festival. Declared the city’s official festival in 2010, the celebration includes more than 60 events, starting May 24th and ending June 9th. With the festival comes parades, carnival rides, art shows, fun runs and more. (Best of all, everyone is invited).

The 2024 Portland Rose Festival includes the following events:
- May 24, 2024: CityFair, with carnival rides, food, beer, live music, and a headlining performer
- June 1, 2024: CareOregon Starlight Parade
- June 5, 2024: Fred Meyer Junior Parade, Fleet Week, and Queen's Coronation
- June 8, 2024: Grand Floral Parade, the festival's centerpiece event, which takes place on the second Saturday after Memorial Day
- The festival also includes Fleet Week, when naval ships line the shore, offering visitors the opportunity to meet sailors, take tours, and learn about the U.S. Navy.

Additional Transit options - Take the POINT bus
The POINT is an intercity bus service in Oregon. This ODOT-funded and managed bus service has four routes operating across the state, including its Portland-Eugene route in the beautiful Willamette Valley. The POINT bus offers several daily trips that help fill in the gaps in train service, and it stops in a few more places, too.
The POINT bus service offers three more routes across the state so you can make connections with Amtrak and other providers to the north coast, across southern Oregon from Klamath Falls to Brookings, and in central Oregon from Bend to Ontario. The service operates 365 days a year and is a safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly alternative to long-distance driving in Oregon.
