ADDITIONAL TRAINS AND CHANGE IN EUGENE MORNING DEPARTURE

Just in time for the holidays, WSDOT and ODOT are starting two additional Amtrak Cascades daily roundtrips between Seattle and Portland. Beginning Monday, Dec. 11, more trains will run in both directions – for a total of 12 trains every day between the two most popular cities on the route.

The new schedule will see trains departing Seattle at 5:52 a.m. and Portland at 6:45 a.m. The latest trains between the two cities will leave at 7:25 p.m. from Portland and 7:50 p.m. from Seattle. Station stops between the two cities include Tukwila, Tacoma, Olympia/Lacey, Centralia, Kelso/Longview, and Vancouver, Washington. Other routes serve stations south from Portland into Oregon and north of Seattle into Canada.

We know Oregonians will enjoy having 12 Amtrak Cascades trains every day between the two most popular cities on the route (don’t forget, the Coast Starlight travels through the Pacific Northwest Rail Corridor twice each day as well). We also know our south Willamette Valley riders are going to enjoy the new later, northbound departure. Currently, Amtrak Cascades leaves Eugene going northbound at 5:30 a.m.; on Dec. 11, that will change to a 7:45 a.m. departure. These riders will be able to go straight to Seattle on the train without having a layover (like they do now!).

Amtrak Cascades trains connect cities along the I-5 corridor and into Canada including Seattle, Vancouver BC, and Portland, Oregon. Skip traffic. Take the train.

Daily round trip service includes:

  • Four daily round trip trains between Portland and Seattle - eight trains
  • Two daily round trip trains between Seattle and Vancouver, BC, Canada - four trains
  • Two daily round trip trains between Eugene and Portland - four trains
  • Several connecting buses

Check out the new Amtrak Cascades schedule.

*Please note the bus schedules for Point Bus in Oregon which provides coverage for the 5:30am Eugene going northbound for you early risers .

Tickets for the newly added trains are available now at AmtrakOregon.com. Customers are encouraged to book early, especially for the holidays, with special discounts available for children, students, seniors, military and groups.

All aboard for more Amtrak Cascades!
